The Water Explorer Turkish National Celebration Event took place in Istanbul on 15th of June 2017. 6 finalists came from different cities to Istanbul to present their water saving actions in front of the judging panel. The jury consisted of experts from environmental NGOs WWF Turkey and Cekul, UNDP, EKO-IQ magazine and last year’s winning teacher as well as representatives from HSBC Turkey and Mikado Sustainable Development Consulting.

The water explorers were great at showing their work and leadership throughout the year and each team were awarded according to their ourstanding performance in different categories. The team of Guzeltepe Ahmet Yesevi Primary School has become Turkey's national winner of 3rd year thanks to their success in creating behavior change in their school and local community as well as being a model for other schools in their town.

Following the selection of the national winner, the finalist teams had a great night celebrating their success; having a ferry tour on the Bosphorus, having their dinner together and cutting their Water Explorer cake.

Day 2 was the adventure time for water explorers. They all enjoyed the natural high rope course at the XtremeAdventures Istanbul. Later, they were hosted by the HSBC Turkey CEO at HSBC Turkey Headquarters.
